With highly targeted mailing lists selling for significant amounts of money, a list of several thousand names as part of an overall sponsorship package is likely to be a nice addition for sponsors who would like to reach an audience of runners.E-mail is another matter. Runners are more apt to resent having their e-mail addresses used commercially. At a minimum, offer entrants an “opt-out” option. Those who don’t “opt-out” can be passed along.
