National Outstanding Volunteer Recognition Program
The success of the RRCA and its clubs and events is based on volunteerism. Since its inception in 1958, the RRCA has relied on the spirit of volunteers to carry out programs, find sponsors, hand-out water, work finish lines, and many other important tasks. It is in recognition of these volunteers that the RRCA developed the National Outstanding Volunteer Recognition program. The purpose of the Outstanding Volunteer Recognition program with the RRCA is to shine a spotlight on individuals that have volunteered over 2000 hours of their time over a period of time to the sport of running. Club presidents, volunteer coordinators, RRCA State Reps, etc. can submit the names of 3 individuals per year per club or event for the outstanding volunteer recognition program. Submissions will be collected throughout the year, and all recipients will receive a certificate and commemorative patch. These items will be mailed near the end of the year. National Outstanding Volunteer recipients will be announced in the RRCA News, posted on the awards page of the website. Without volunteers, our clubs and events would not be as successful at promoting running in their communities. RRCA Club Web Site AwardsEach year the RRCA recognizes the top club web sites as part of their annual awards EligibilityTo be eligible sites have to be current RRCA clubs with web sites listed on the RRCA club pages. They also are required to have a link to the RRCA from their home page. Judging CriteriaJudging is done in each of two categories, small clubs with 250 members or less, and large clubs with over 250 members. Three Top Sites are picked in each division. They are all winners! Finally, best sites in each division are picked from among these six.
