AwardsRRCA Annual AwardsSince 1971, the Road Runners Club of America has been honoring dedicated individuals for their outstanding service to the running community. As a service to our members, the RRCA developed the Annual RRCA National Grassroots Running Awards to acknowledge the service and commitment of outstanding volunteers to the running community. Outstanding contributors are recognized at the RRCA Annual Banquet and National Grassroots Awards Ceremony, and each year the RRCA provides a travel stipend for these deserving individuals to attend the banquet and awards ceremony. The RRCA National Grassroots Running Awards include the RRCA Long Distance Running Hall of Fame Inductee(s); the Male and Female Runners of the Year and Masters Runners of the Year; the Scott Hamilton Outstanding RRCA Club President Award; the RRCA Rod Steele Outstanding Club Volunteer Award; the Jerry Little Memorial Journalism Awards for Outstanding Club Newsletter(s); Outstanding Club Writer; Journalism Excellence; the RRCA Kurt Steiner Children's Award; the Browning Ross Spirit of the RRCA Award; the RRCA Nina Kuscik Women's Running Award; the Outstanding State Representative of the Year; and the RRCA Road Race of the Year Award.
RRCA Volunteer Award Certificate ProgramThe success of the RRCA and its clubs and events is based on volunteerism. Since its inception in 1958, the RRCA has relied on the spirit of volunteers to carry out programs, find sponsors, hand out water, work finish lines and many other necessary and important tasks. It is in recognition of these volunteers that the RRCA developed the Volunteer Award Certificates. Without volunteers our clubs and events would not be as successful at promoting grassroots running. A club president or designated officer may nominate up to 3 individual volunteers that have contributed at least 2000 hours over the years. The RRCA supports many national level volunteer
committees which are a great opportunity to get involved with
the organization at the national level. For more information
about national volunteer committees or to express your interest
in serving on a national committee, email the Executive Director.
